Houston, TX – The Houston Astros had a record launch with their Nike City Connect Space City Kitlaunched on Sunday, April 10.
Fans will see the new Space City Uniforms in action for the first time tonight, Wednesday, April 20 at 5:40 p.m. CT against the Los Angeles Angels.

The Astros had the best commercial launch of one of the nine teams to unveil their City Connect uniforms so far, featuring Launch of the space city daily sales beating the previous launch record by +329%.
Not only the Space City launch sets records in the Nike City Connect unveils its spacebut it was also arrecord day in Astros Team Store history. The launch beat the 2017 World Series Champion Gold Rush event by +73%. It was also the Astros team store second-highest non-game sales total of all time. The only better day was the day after the Astros won the 2017 World Series.
The launch of Space City was also bigger than any regular season game daybeating Opening Day 2018 after winning the 2017 World Series.
Jose Altuve’s jerseythe best-selling jersey in the Astros Team Store in 2021, was the most popular player jersey at launch, followed by Alex Bregman and Yordan Alvarez. The quantity of Jose Altuve Jerseys sold on launch day was three times the previous team’s best-selling shirt when City Connect was launched. In total, more than one quarter of Astros City Connect product sold on MLB Shop has been Equipment Jose Altuve.
The quantity of City Connect Space City New Era on the field equipped caps sold on launch day was a +422% increase to the amount of the previous record holder when it launched City Connect.
Online sales also broke records for Space City. In the first two days of sales alone, the Astros sold 36% more online than the best-selling City Connect team for all of 2021. Space City was also MLB Shop’s highest sales for all City Connect day one launchesbeating the previous record of more +100%.
Space City Merchandiseincluding jerseys, hats and more are available at Astros team store at Union Station, as well as inside the ballpark at all merchandise locations during games. Fans will have access to a wide assortment of merchandise throughout the season.
