As usual, Virgil Abloh stood out this summer for his fashion initiatives, notably thanks to his crossover. Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 collection with its 50 Dunk capsule which will be released soon. With the change of seasons coming just a few months away, the luxury designer takes us behind the scenes for a behind-the-scenes look at the process of creating his Louis Vuitton F / W ’21 Menswear Fashion Show.

“Fashion isn’t about clothes,” Abloh says of the capsule. “This is the image that is painted. On how clothes can reinforce or destabilize prejudices. And that’s the collection. Throughout the 15 minute video, we take a close look at how the clothes were styled together and what themes were implemented. The show’s most prominent clothing was street wear, and Abloh explains in the video that they were inspired by his architectural background. Many of the show’s other looks have been ranked as well, and her team is shown putting together the specific looks intended for a job interview, vagrants, outdoorsy guys and more.

The choreography was also a key part of the show. Contemporary dancers and figure skaters were called upon to be part of the experience with Yasiin Bey being asked to create a runway that would serve as the backdrop for the parade.
