The famous sportswear and sneaker company has cut ties with some of the biggest shoe retailers in the country.
Now Foot lockeranother popular footwear retailer, is preparing to have fewer Nike products on its shelves.
Foot locker announced last week no supplier is expected to account for more than 60% of its business in 2022. Nike accounted for 70% of Foot Locker’s business in 2021 and 75% in 2020.
“This change reflects Nike’s accelerated strategic shift towards direct-to-consumer and Foot Locker’s ongoing brand and category diversification efforts,” Foot Locker chief financial officer Andrew Page told a conference call. telephone.
Nike wants to offer its customers a “premium experience” taking more of a direct-to-consumer business approach. The company plans to appoint certain stores or sections of storesonly for Nike products.
