Group of thieves steal $100,000 worth of Nike shoes in Memphis, police say – FOX13 News Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A group of multiple suspects are wanted after they broke into a local business and stole $100,000 worth of Nike shoes, along with toys for a holiday toy drive.

The break-in occurred at Kixx valid6569 Winchester Rd., on Sunday, November 20 at approximately 9:45 p.m., according to the Memphis Police Department (MPD).

The owner told police that his alarm system informed him that someone had broken into the store.

The suspects threw a four-way tire wrench through a window to gain entry, MPD said.

Video footage showed around 20 men walking in and out of the store grabbing goods.

Inside, they punched a hole in a back wall to enter a warehouse full of new shoes.

All of the suspects were wearing hoodies and face coverings, MPD said, and some were wearing gloves.

They left in several different vehicles: a dark-colored Dodge Charger, a Dodge Challenger, and a light-colored Infiniti and Mercedes.

The business owner said the suspects stole approximately $100,000 worth of Nike shoes.

The break-in mirrors another incident at a local Walmart that happened the same night.

According to MPD, a group of about 22 people entered a Walmart in Whitehaven and seized items before fleeing in about 20 vehicles.

Police said some of the suspects were armed but no shots were fired.

No one was injured in this incident.

The MPD said it had not confirmed whether the incidents were linked. Investigations are ongoing.

A GoFundMe was created to raise $20,000 for Valid Kixx following the burglary.

According to the fundraiser, the store had collected toys for a holiday toy drive, but the thieves got away with some of the toys.

The store is asking the community to help replace these items to bring joy to children in need this Christmas.
