Nike and Kasina have a new sneaker project in the works.
After delivering a two-shoe Dunk Low collaboration in 2020, the South Korean boutique announced this week on Instagram that it had teamed up with the sportswear giant in Spring 22 to deliver an Air Max 1 collection to shelves in June.
The Kasina x Nike Air Max 1 collabs will come in two colorways each inspired by the Won-Ang Ducks. One of the pair wears vibrant multi-color makeup and the other wears darker tones throughout the shoe. Both pairs feature a premium leather upper paired with soft suede and faux pony hair overlay panels on the midfoot panels. Standout details of the sneakers are the special Korean text on the tongue and a flower-inspired mini Swoosh embroidery on the mudguard. The design is completed with a sail-colored midsole and translucent outsole.
“To celebrate our 25th anniversary, we’ve worked with Nike to create an Air Max 1 that showcases the feelings of Korea to the world. The Air Max 1 silhouette comes in two new colorways and material offerings are inspired by the feelings Won-Ang ducks,” Kasina wrote on the collaboration’s Instagram caption.
The Kasina x Nike Air Max 1 collaborations will first be released on Kasina.co.kr and Kasina stores on June 4, followed by another launch via the Nike SNKRS app on June 8. As of press time, retail pricing for the sneakers has yet to be announced by either party.
In related Nike news, Travis Scott has teamed up with Nike to deliver two new iterations of the classic Air Max 1 and Air Trainer 1 sneakers that will arrive this Friday.
