Nike has suspended its relationship with Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood after he was arrested on suspicion of rape and assault.
Greenwood, 20, was arrested yesterday following harrowing images and audio circulating on social media, which alleged he attacked an 18-year-old student.
Footage appeared to show the woman bloodied and bruised, while another message is a voice recording of a conversation between a man and a woman.
Dated October last year, it is said to have chronicled the woman who was attacked.
Following the allegations, Nike – the global sportswear giant – issued a statement saying it was “deeply concerned”.
Now it has been revealed that their connection with Greenwood has been suspended.

Earlier today detectives were seen visiting several neighbors of the attacker.
Maureen Foley, 89, told MailOnline: ‘They asked me if I had heard or seen anything. But I hadn’t been able to tell them much. I saw it but that’s it.
Another neighbor said: ‘The police asked if we had heard anything. But he’s only been here a few weeks. An Everton player used to live there and another player owns it, but Mason is just renting it out.

REVEALED: Cristiano Ronaldo, David de Gea, Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford among top Manchester United stars to drop out of Greenwood
Manchester United’s biggest stars are apparently not following team-mate Mason Greenwood on social media after he was arrested over rape and assault allegations, with nine first-team members keeping their distance today.
United’s most high-profile players, including David de Gea, Cristiano Ronaldo and Paul Pogba, have avoided Greenwood on Instagram, despite following other members of the squad.
Marcus Rashford, Edinson Cavani, Fred and Jesse Lingard are also among those not following the rising star, who is at the center of shocking allegations that he attacked an 18-year-old student.
But club captain Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes are among a group of 18 squad members who have so far maintained their support for the young striker on the social media platform, sports mail can reveal.

Club insiders, meanwhile, have been concerned about Greenwood’s ego for some time.
Other concerns have also been raised regarding his behavior, both on and off the pitch.
During the lockdown, it was reported that he hosted parties at a rented property, neighbors allegedly complained about the noise.
The young ace has rented a three-story property through Airbnb “five or six times” during the pandemic, with loud music in the early morning disturbing people nearby.
A neighbor told MailOnline: ‘Mason Greenwood has been having these rowdy parties on our road for months.
“He invites all these people and the noise is unbearable. I went several times there to ask them to refuse.
“The music can go on until 4 or 5 a.m., keeping me awake with that deep, booming bass. The house is shaking and there’s a lot of rising voices and laughter.
Previously, United spoke to Greenwood about his attitude around the training ground, in particular his timing.
