Nike Mag (2011), $29,000
2011 isn’t exactly old, but with only 10 years on the clock, the Nike Mag is destined to be a vintage sneaker of the future:
The Nike Mag was created by Nike Inc. and is one of the rarest shoes. This is a reproduction of a shoe featured in the movie Back to the Future II. The shoe was originally produced in 1989 and later hit the market in 2011 and then again in 2016.
Each launch was limited to limited quantities. The 2011 release was limited to 1,510 pairs, while the 2016 release was limited to 89 pairs.
Nike said Mag was not designed for high-intensity activities and should not be worn for recreational purposes. They were produced generally for display.
When released in 2011, 1,500 pairs were auctioned on eBay on September 8, 2011 with prices ranging from $2,300 to $9,959. All proceeds were donated to the Micheal J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Disease Research.
Nike too sold another 10 pairs at live auction and they were packed in display boxes, a total of $4.7 million was generated from the auction.

Nike Dunk SB “Paris”, $113,000
No vintage Nike shoe list is complete without a pair of “Paris” SB Dunk Low:
This pair of shoes needs no introduction to sneakerheads. For non-sneakerheads, let’s start with rarity. It is said that there are only 120 to 200 pairs.
Moving on to style next, the sneaker was launched in Paris in 2002 and was beautifully designed by the late French artist Bernard Buffet. Each pair carries a specific design, which makes this shoe even more desirable.
It is rumored that a London based reseller, Proxyeed, sold a pair of these vintage Nike shoes for £100,000. That’s about $113,000. According to Proxyeed owner Ryan Thomas Symes, the the shoe is one of the most expensive private shoe sales ever.

The Air Jordan 1, $560,000
Last, but not least, is the Air Jordan 1. A vintage Nike sneaker, originally created in 1985 by Nike for famous former basketball player, Micheal Jordan:
When a pair of shoes autographed by MJ were auctioned off at Sotheby’s in 2021, they broke the world sneaker record at the time, sold for $560,000. Kanye West’s Yeezy’s now holds that record ($1.8 million).
The name of the buyer was not disclosed by Sotheby’s, but they said offers for these sneakers came from four continents.
