The Nike Air Force 1 turned 40 this year. One of the brand’s most iconic swoosh shoes, it’s loved by sneakerheads and has recently been part of the brand’s collaborations with Billie Eilish, Stussy, TedxPortland, Off-White and Louis Vuitton.
The Air Force 1 debuted in 1982 with a high-top silhouette, courtesy of iconic Nike designer Bruce Kilgore. As the first basketball kick to introduce an air cushion in the heel, they were the first step in making the brand’s shoes more comfortable for athletes. Thus, the silhouette is quite important in the history of the brand.
Over the years, the shoes have evolved into lifestyle sneakers, undergoing several makeovers each year. Whether one wants to collect them or wear them for everyday comfort, these shoes never disappoint. They have retained their glory like no other.
Follow us as we list the next Air Force 1 iteration releases during the third week of July 2022, from July 15 to July 21.
Air Force 1 ’07’ ‘LA Flea’ and two other Nike Air Force 1 releases during the third week of July
1) Air Force 1 Low ’07’ ‘Fresh’
The swoosh has decided to update its most iconic colorway, Triple White, in celebration of the shoe’s 40th anniversary. The upcoming colorway, dubbed Fresh, lives up to its title as it adopts a sleek and minimalist style.
The Nike site describes the shoe as follows:
“You can’t stop getting old, but the Air Force 1 ‘Fresh’ comes close. The supple, textured leather helps hide creases and is easy to clean…Now there’s really no reason not to switch white on white.”
The white-on-white colourway has a textured leather upper instead of the standard leather construction.
This helps the wearer walk more easily, without worrying about wrinkling the leather. In addition, the shoes are easy to clean.
Tongues and heel tabs have been upgraded with the addition of embossed “Nike Air” branding, while perforated insoles work to provide better ventilation for the foot. The standard all-white matching midsole and outsole completes the design.
The pair is set to release on Friday, July 15, 2022, for a retail price of $140.
2) Air Force 1 ’07’ ‘THE Chip’
Nike celebrates the iconic Los Angeles flea markets in their latest redesign of the Air Force 1 ’07 Low silhouette. The LA Flea silhouette is also part of the “Anniversary Edition” line. These sneakers are made from multiple materials, and Nike presents them as follows:
Step into endless style with the Air Force 1 LA Flea. Taking inspiration from the outdoor markets of Los Angeles, she brings warmth with an old-and-new aesthetic.
The site also gives more details on the upcoming shoes:
“Premium mix-and-match materials combine with a hand-sewn aesthetic for a clever DIY look that honors streetwear’s mecca flair to push the boundaries and breathe life into ‘pre-owned’ items. “.”
The shoe comes dressed in Light Beige and Soft Orange hues while hits of Blue can be seen on the tongue tags and blurry panels. The toes are accented with exposed white stitching to create a subtle contrast. Rope laces, midsoles, and all-white outsoles complete the design.
The pair is set to release on July 16, 2022, for a retail price of $140.
